Income Tax Cap 7%

Supports lowering the maximum allowable state income tax rate from 10 percent to 7 percent.

The measure would amend Subsection (6) of Section 2 of Article V of the North Carolina Constitution. The following underlined text would be added and ~~struck-through~~ text deleted:

(6) Income tax. The rate of tax on incomes shall not in any case exceed ~~ten~~ seven percent, and there shall be allowed personal exemptions and deductions so that only net incomes are taxed.
